This picture was another birthday commission for a sea-faring family who had returned home to the Welsh mountains in lockdown; their passion for sailing symbolised in the maritime bunting. I'm always keen to reflect the chaos of family life and sneak a rogue digger or dinosaur into the flowerbed wherever possible. The picture was commissioned from mother to son, via her daughter-in-law who kindly provided me with the pictures and I was relieved to find these familiar features of family life lodged next to the strawberry plants. I completely fell in love with their lurcher and pigs, chickens and hand-drawn honey labels. I don't think that I could possibly walk past the eggs sale without buying a dozen and putting in an offer for the artwork. Can you spot it in the finished pic?
